Delete your Pacexis account

This page explains how to delete your account in Pacexis, the running app at pacexis.com (Pacexis: Race Prep & Pacing on Google Play, also on iPhone and the web), and what happens to your data. You can do it yourself in a minute, or ask us by email.

Delete it yourself

  • Android app: open Pacexis, go to Settings, tap Delete account and confirm.
  • iPhone app: open Pacexis, go to Settings, tap Delete account and confirm.
  • Web: sign in at pacexis.com/settings with the same Google or Apple account, then choose Delete account in the Account section and confirm.

Ask us by email

If you cannot use the app or the web, email [email protected] from the email address of your Pacexis account (the one of the Google or Apple account you sign in with) and ask us to delete the account. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it.

What happens next

  • For 30 days after you delete it, the account can still be restored: sign in again and choose Restore account (Recover account in the Android app). This is there in case you change your mind, or someone else deleted it.
  • If you pay for Pacexis on the web, deleting the account sets that subscription to end at the close of the current billing period, so it does not renew. If you restore the account in time, the subscription is set to renew again, as long as its period has not ended yet. A subscription you had already cancelled yourself stays cancelled.
  • After 30 days, the account and its data are permanently deleted: your profile, runs and their insights, pain logs, planned workouts, shoes and gear, training zones, connected data sources and calendar feeds, subscription records, preferences and the record of emails we sent you. Before that, we revoke the access tokens we hold for services you connected.
  • At the same time we ask the services that handle payments and analytics for us to delete your records there. At Stripe (web payments) we cancel any web subscription still running and ask Stripe to delete your customer record. Stripe may keep the records it must keep as the merchant of record for web payments and under tax and accounting law, such as the invoices and payments of past charges. At RevenueCat (App Store and Google Play purchases) we ask for your customer record to be deleted. At PostHog (product analytics) we ask for the profile linked to your account, and its events and session recordings, to be deleted, which PostHog does in a later batch rather than at once. If a deletion there cannot be completed, some analytics data may remain until the end of PostHog's retention period. Analytics events that were never linked to your account cannot be found, so they stay anonymous.
  • Crash and error reports are not deleted account by account. Sentry, which gets error and crash reports from the web app, our servers and the mobile apps, keeps them for 30 days. Firebase Crashlytics, which gets crash reports from the Android and iPhone apps, keeps them for 90 days. After that they are removed. Firebase Analytics, which gets usage events only if you opt in to analytics, is not purged account by account either: Google deletes those events at the end of the retention period set for Pacexis in Google Analytics.
  • If an email to you bounced or you reported one as spam, we keep a keyed hash of the address (not the address itself), so a new account with that address is not emailed again.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play: only you can cancel it there, and the store keeps billing until you do. Cancel it first: on Android in Google Play → Subscriptions, and on iPhone in the Subscriptions page of your Apple Account.

To keep a copy of your data, export it first with Export my data in Settings. The privacy policy describes the data Pacexis keeps and the services that process it.
